BARTLETT, Allan Raymond “Al” - 43, Salmon River. With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Allan Raymond Bartlett on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Born August 6, 1967, in Truro, he was the son of the late Allan and Hazel (Fulton) Bartlett. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Matthew Fowler, Saskatchewan. Allan is survived by his sisters, Dianne Bartlett (Steve Rudolph), East Mountain; Laura Fowler, Saskatchewan; nephew, Justin Caverley, Truro; step-father, Eldon “Spud” Arsenault; niece, Lacey Fowler, Alberta; friend, Lynn Jackson, Truro. Allan loved the military and served many years as a steward. He sailed in various classes of ships, including destroyers and frigates and completed a ten-month tour of duty in Bosnia. Allan enjoyed fishing and golfing and loved spending time at his cottage in Earltown with family and friends. Funeral service was held Friday, October 29, 2010, in Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, Reverend Brian DeLong officiated. RUSHTON, Harold Ivan, ”Heddy” - 76, of Debert, Colchester Co., passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital. Truro. Born in Lower Debert, he was a son of the late Burton and Kathleen (Selwah) Rushton. Harold made a living as a carpenter and worked with his brother Roy his entire life. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church Great Village. He was a member of the Foster Parent Association, Truro, and also a Foster Parent. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Rhoda; daughters, Debbie and Kathy, both of Great Village, Tanya Pictou, North York, ON; sons, Brian and Daton Pearl (Trina), both of Truro; son-in-law Sean Hayward, Truro; grandchildren Erica, Danielle, Riley, Alex, Darius, DJ; brothers Victor and Roy (Myrtle) Lower Debert, Joseph Debert; sister Shirley Soley (Paul) Lower Economy; numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his little companion Spencer. He was predeceased by a sister Joyce Fiddes; great nephew Jacob. RYAN, Jean Mae – 79, Truro, passed away on October 29, 2010 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late James and Henrietta Nickerson. Jean and her late husband Douglas were members of Hub Campers for 40 years. Jean is survived by her son, Alan (Nancy), Lower Truro; daughter-in-law, Cindy, Debert; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, James Nickerson, Bear Point; Stanley (Florence) Nickerson, Thorold, Ontario; sister, Etta Boutilier, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas and her son, Roger. HINES, John Henry “Jack”, 72, Masstown, passed peacefully at home on November 6th 2010. Born in Wolfville, NS on May 20th 1938, Jack was the son of the late Austin and Mabel (Morine) Greene. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gail (Clarke) Hines, children Susan (Jeff) Willett, Kamloops, BC, Sandra (David) Allaby, Chris (Valerie) Hines, Kathleen (Wayne) Purdy all of Masstown, NS; sister, Judy (Don) Whittier, Aylesford, NS; treasured grandchildren Roman and Olivia, Kamloops, B.C., Daniel, Cole, Cameron, Emma, Ava, all of Masstown. SEARS, Shirley M. – 85, of Parrsboro passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. HORNE, Kenneth Ackland - 79, Highland Village and Toronto, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Ken was born in Edmonton Alberta, April 30, 1931 and was the son of the late James and Evelyn (Brooks) Horne. As an air cadet, he obtained his pilot’s license at age 16. He attended the University of Alberta and joined the Air Force in 1950. He met his wife in London, ON while completing officer training. He served in the R.C.A.F. as a navigator and instructor in Edmonton, Winnipeg, London, Centralia, Canadian Forces Staff School, Air Transport Trenton where he supervised three global circumnavigations, R.A.F. Wyton, Rivers, Manitoba. He was adjutant at Canadian Forces Staff College for three years. Since 1994 he was a summer resident in Highland Village, Colchester County, at his wife’s family home. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Isabelle (Hennessey); children, Sarah, Jim, Graham and Rebecca (Don Grose); 6 grandchildren; brother, Sandy (Auren); sister, Judith; brother-in-law, Paul Kautz and many friends. VARNER, Harry T. “Bubs” - 94, of Parrsboro, and formerly of Diligent River, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Glasgow Mountain, he was a son of the late George “Fred” and Leah (Bowden) Varner. He is survived by his wife, the former Alexia Bennett; a son, Terry (Karen), Parrsboro; a sister, Mabel Green, Middleton; brothers, Roy (Janet), Diligent River; Aubrey (Leoda), Yorke Settlement; a grandson, Robert, Parrsboro and Robert’s mother, Betty Bird, Springhill; several nieces and nephews. DAVIDSON, Muriel Winnifred “Winnie” - 85, of East Village, passed away peacefully at the Colchester Regional Hospital Truro, on Friday, November 12, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Londonderry, she was a life time resident of the area, raised by her grandmother Susan Rushton. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals boasting an assortment of over 400. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence and daughter Carol. Winnie was beloved by her daughter Beverly McCulloch (Lee), Debert, and their children Brandon (Suzanne), and their children Drew and Autumn; Joshua (Colleen); Desiree; Winnie’s son Lyle (Cindy), East Mountain, and their children, Maggie and Dustin; grandson Ian, Twillingate, NL, who is the son of the late Carol and also son, Llewelyn Rushton, BC, and foster son, Charles Cock, AB. RAMSEY, Catherine Florence (McKinney) – 59, Lower Truro passed away suddenly, November 14, 2010 in Saint John Regional Hospital, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the eldest daughter of Stella (McKinney) Walker and the late William McKinney. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Tom; daughters, Mary Catherine Gonzales, Onslow, Corinne (Jason) Hardy, New Glasgow; sons, Doug (Chrissy), Truro, Andrew, Lloydminster , Alberta; seven grandchildren; sisters, Karen Cummings, Trish Irvine, Janet Howe, all of Saint John, NB, Rosemarie Mailman, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews. SHEARER, Perry Vincent - 52, Belmont passed away on the 14th of November, 2010. Born in Truro, he was the son of Florence Isabella and the late Alexander Watson Shearer. He is survived by his two sons, Justin Perry John and Jason Todd Steele, his mother, Florence, brothers, Elmer (Margaret), Teddy (Margaret), George, Roach (Leona), Alexander, Russell, Eric (Donna) and sister Terry Lynn (Kevin), and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Alexander and brother Curtis. He was a former employee of CIL for several years. In those years he enjoyed skiing with his sons and hunting. In later years he volunteered at the Colchester Food Bank and enjoyed bass fishing and walking. RECTOR, Theodore “Ted” Dexter – 52, passed away November 16, 2010 at his home in Dartmouth. Born in Truro, he was a son of Muriel Smith and the late Dexter Rector. Ted’s lifelong passion was his love for his family and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. His friendliness and charm was always evident wherever he went. He was very proud of his work with Maritime Roofing. He is survived by daughters, Natasha and Shelby Rector, sons, Jason (Mindy), Harley, all of Truro; grandchildren, Dominic, Brendan, Payton, Connor, Keegan and Lucas; sister, Cherie (Brian) MacDonald; three nieces and a nephew; several cousins, aunts, uncles and great-aunts. SMITH, Helen Jean -93, Lower Sackville and formerly of Economy, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Lower Sackville on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Born March 21, 1917 in the family home in Carrs Brook, where she always resided, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Ethelena (Moore) Cameron. NEIL, Milton “Addison” – 82, Truro, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Noel, Hants Co. on April 14, 1928, he was a son of the late Albert and Mildred (Brunt) Neil. Addison is survived by daughter, Kathy (Peter) Christensen; son, Douglas (Nancy Lynn) Neil; grandson, Joshua Christensen and granddaughter, Danielle Christensen; brothers, Douglas, Gordon and Allen; sister, Isabel Pratt, Lower Sackville, NS. He was predeceased by brothers, Wilfred, Charles, Elgin, Graham, Willis, Garfield, Robert and Mosher; sisters, Annie and Priscilla; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a very close and loving friend, Earlene Barrett and her children, John, Kevin, Jennifer and their families. Addison served in the regular armed forces. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro for 35 years. He was associated with the late Gordon Creelman, South Branch as farm manager for 10 years and he was grocery manager at Ryan’s IGA, Truro for 26 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Maritime Fiddler’s Association and an active member of the Hub Town Fiddlers. He was a member of the Good Times Senior Citizen Club since 1991, president from 1992-1995, past president and he also served on many committees. CAVANAGH, Jean Lillian (McCray) - 79, Bible Hill, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Born February 16, 1931, in Hilden, she was a daughter of the late Chris and Eva (McLeod) McCray. She was co-owner of Cavanagh’s Food Market where she and Lloyd operated a successful business for over 50 years. McCULLY, Terry Joseph – 63, Onslow Mountain, passed away on October 8, 2010 at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Wendell and Gertrude McCully. Terry is survived by his children, Chris and Kim McCully, their mother, Betty Hynds, and their half-brother, Nathan McCully, as well as his grandson, Joey McCully. He is also survived by sisters, Judy Devouge and Nancy (Walter) Johnston, brothers, Sandy (Mary) McCully, Richard McCully and Ron (Debbie) McCully as well as several nieces and nephews and partner, Bonnee Blair. MARSHALL, Sadie Ellen - 89, Truro. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sadie Ellen Marshall on October 14, 2010 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Earltown, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Cavanaugh) Marshall. She is survived by son, Delmar (Jackie), Truro, whom she loved dearly; brother, Lloyd (Carol), Masstown; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. MacLELLAN, Ronald Lee – 54, Truro. The passing occurred at his home in Truro, October 15, 2010 of Ronald Lee MacLellan. Born on July 4, 1956 he was the son of the late Ewart "Mac" and Shirley McLellan, also of Truro. Ron worked in the heavy equipment industry throughout the Maritimes and Ontario for many years. HOYT, Milton Addison “Mike” – Onslow/Bridgetown. It is with great sadness that the family of Milton Addison “Mike” Hoyt, 87, announce his passing peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown. Born in Onslow, he was a son of the late Carrie Lee (Mosher) and Albert Leonard Hoyt. At a young age Milton left Onslow for work in Halifax, then on to Bridgetown, where he met his wife Jeanne and was married in 1947. He eventually returned to Onslow to start his own trucking business; Milton A. Hoyt Trucking. In 1982 he joined with his two sons and formed Milton Hoyt Trucking and Excavating, Ltd., which continues to operate at present. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Eugenia “Jeanne” (Bent), sons, Charles (Janet) and David (Alexa), Onslow; and daughter, Audrey (Martin MacLean), Bible Hill; grandchildren, Krista Benoit, Quebec, Kelly (Jody Lynch), New Brunswick, Jason Hoyt (Jacqueline), Bible Hill, Taylor Hoyt, Onslow, step-grandchildren, Scott MacLean (Cyndi), Truro, Shawn MacLean (Cindy), Enfield, and Nicholas (Veronica) MacLean, Port Williams. McNutt, 88, of Riverton/Debert, NS, on September 21, 2010 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with her family at her side. Marguerite was born in Anzegem, Belgium, the daughter of Richard and Melanie (Van Lierde) Doutreloigne. She came to Canada as a War Bride in 1946 after marrying Merle and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1995. LYNDS, Karl MacNeil - 95, Truro, passed away August 16, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Lower Debert, he was a son of the late John and Ella (MacNeil) Lynds. In his early years, Karl worked in the Design Dept. of Eaton’s in Toronto where he specialized in floats for the Christmas parades. Later he worked as a finished carpenter and built homes in Windsor, Ontario and Truro. He was a building inspector for local education institutions and was also involved with numerous real estate properties. Karl loved to travel and visited Florida for over twenty-two years consecutively. Catherine "Kay" was born February 8, 1914, at Marble Mountain, Inverness County, to Daniel John and Margaret Morrison (Nee MacLennan). A young graduate of Mount Allison University in 1933, Catherine taught school first at Marble Mountain, then in Richmond County and later in Belmont, Upper Musquodoboit and finally Bass River. There she met and married Douglas R. Davidson of Portaupique Mountain, where they raised their four children on the Davidson family farm. Kay was integrally involved in the lives of her family; children: Margaret Forbes (Robert), Jean Giddens (Richard), Gordon (Nancy) and John (Anita); grandchildren; Heather, Andrew, John David “JD”, Peter, Tim, Sheilah, Janet, Ian, Sarah, Gavin, Fiona, Sean; great-grandchildren; Fiona, Jack, Teah, Payton, William, Hunter. CANNING, BURGESS L. – 91, Bedford passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at home. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Ritchie and Maude (Manning) Canning. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. Following the war, he with his brother Wilfred operated a tugboat and barge service in the Parrsboro area for many years. He also worked as an engineer with Northumberland Ferries and at the Debert "Diefenbaker" Bunker. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for more than 50 years. PYE, Beatrice Louise age 97 of Truro passed away at Naugler Home Care on June 30. Beatrice was born in Truro on June 14, 1913 and was the daughter of Seymour and Elizabeth MacCallum (McNutt) of Truro. She was a member and supporter of First United Church and a life member of United Church Women. Beatrice was a long time member and worker in the International Order of Good Templars for over 50 years. She was predeceased by her husband Russell, her sister Dorothy Clay of Cambridge, Ontario and her brother Ernest MacCallum of Pictou. Beatrice is survived by one son, Garry Pye (Mary-Lou) of Truro, four grandchildren Shannon Pye-Wilson (Pat), Bedford, Tracy Pye-Roberts (Glenn), Truro, Andrew Pye, Halifax and Alexandra Pye, Halifax, and by five great grandchildren, Luke and Zack Wilson and Casey, Emily and Logan Roberts and extended family Sean and Jennifer Mongey of Barrie, Ontario and Andrew and Heidi Caldwell of Truro. Beatrice lived by herself until January 1 of this year when she moved into Naugler’s Home Care. She worked as a linotype operator with the Truro Daily News in the 40’s and 50’s. For the past ten years she received loving and professional help from Elizabeth Blair, her caregiver, and recently from everyone at Naugler’s Nursing Home. The family is very grateful to Dr Michael Murray for his kindness and dedication and also in the month of May from the staff of Four South at Colchester Regional Hospital. TALBOT, Harriet Alberta (Potter) - 88 of Central Onslow passed away July 2, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Clementsvale she was the daughter of the late Jennie and Willis Potter. Harriet was a veteran of the 2nd World War and served with the CWAC. Following the war she worked at Cornwallis where she met her late husband, Cecil Talbot. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Son, Philip (Juanita) Talbot, of Central Onslow and sons, Matthew and Travis, Daughter, Sandra (Richard) Sampson of Bridgetown and her stepdaughters Joanne, Lynn and Tammy; Son, John (Roxanne) Talbot of Georgetown, Ontario and son Dylan. She is also survived by one great grandson Vander, and one step great grandson Kyle. She was predeceased by granddaughters Gwendolyn and Catherine. Harriet enjoyed the support and love of a close knit family including surviving sister Edith (Berry) Thompson of Bedford and her late sisters Glendean Young, Gladys White, Greta Walker, Louise Selig and late brother Robert Potter. PEPPARD, John Edwin "Jack" – 70, Londonderry. The passing of John Edwin “Jack” Peppard occurred quietly at his home on Thursday morning, July 15, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Great Village, he was a son of the late Matthew and Louise (Rose) Peppard. Except for a brief interlude in Ontario, he lived his entire adult life in the Great Village area. GONSALES, John Desi, Master Corporal, 39 – Onslow Mountain, passed away on July 18, 2010. Born in Truro, he was the son of Claude and Elfreda (Romahn) Gonzales. John was a dedicated and loving father and husband who spent his life as a career military soldier serving as a vehicle technician in the 144th Construction Engineering Flight in Pictou, NS. He served multiple tours in Afghanistan, and was a basic, hard-working individual. John is survived by his wife Mary (Ramsey); children, Zachery, Hannah, Cody and Jacob; sisters, Jenny (Terry) George, Beth (Robert) Mosher; father and mother-in-law, Tom (Cathy) Ramsey. Born in 1927 in Rolleau, SK, he was the son of the late Roy and Florence (Jackson) Gordon. LANG, Graham Ernest - 79, Debert, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, May 22, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born November 27, 1930, in New York, he was a son of the late Percival and Ethel (MacLean) Lang. Graham was a life time member of Debert United Church, where he served as treasurer for about 50 years, caretaker, sang in the choir, and was Clerk of Session for about 25 years. During his working life he held a number of positions including working at the radio transmitter in Onslow for CKCL, switchboard operator for MT & T and Camp Debert, was a brakeman for the CNR, a warehouse worker for Atlantic Wholesalers, and finally as a laborer at Weskin Inc., in Debert. Graham is survived by his sister, Edith (Leo) Kean, Upper Onslow; brother, Charles (Carol) Lang, Nanaimo, British Columbia; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Graham was predeceased by his brother, Colin Lang. Fittingly, his funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Debert United Church, as it was so much a part of his life. The service began with a Masonic Tribute. Graham had received his 50th Year Jewel in 2009 as a member of King George Lodge Debert. A large delegations attended from the Masonic Order, members of the Session and Stewards of the Church, the DGM Men’s Club, the Friendly Neighbours Seniors Club, of which he served as President and many friends and neighbours. Memories were shared by long time friends Tom Rissesco and Douglas Stiles and by nephew Ian Kean who send his by e-mail from the Kingdom of Bhutan. A Community choir in which he often participated sang the 23rd Psalm and "Precious Lord, take my Hand". The Rev. Lester Settle, a former minister of the Church and secretary of the Men’s Club was the Organist. The Reverend Don MacQueen officiated. Interment was in Plains Road Cemetery. A time of fellowship and sharing followed in the church hall.

DEWAR, Mildred May "Millie" - 99, Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro, formerly of Great Village and Townsview Estates, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, May 24, 2010, in the home, just six days before her 100th birthday. Born May 30, 1910, in Harmony, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mabel (McCabe) Reid. WHIDDEN, Eleanor Mae – Greenfield. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and friend, Eleanor Mae (Davison) Whidden. Eleanor, who was 81, passed away on June 4, 2010 at the Colchester Regional Hospital in Truro with her beloved son Fred and daughter Nancy Strong by her side. TUPPER, Nathan M. – 79, Templar Street, Parrsboro passed away Sunday, June 06, 2010 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Nathan F. Tupper and the late Vanessa (Berry) (Tupper) Canning. He was a former engineer, mechanic and was the very first employee at Parrsboro Metal Fabricators where he retired from in 1996. During his retirement, he became an avid gardener and carver with his plants, flower and crafts spread across the country. He was a former fire chief of the Parrsboro Volunteer Fire Department. CUMING, Frederick Gordon, 87, Truro, passed away June 20, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick he was the eldest son of the late Gordon and Hattie (Bonnar) Cuming. Fred graduated from the University of New Brunswick and Dalhousie University with a BSC and MSC in science. He worked with the Canadian Forestry Service for 35 years. Fred was a Navy veteran of WW II, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Truro, and the Masonic Lodge # 43 and Scottish Rite. FULTON, Lloyd Carson - 93, lifelong resident of Bass River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Vimy Court Nursing Home in Bible Hill. Born in Bass River, he was a son of the late George Bradbury and Margaret (Henderson) Fulton. Lloyd was a farmer, construction worker and sawyer for most of his life. He was a lifelong member of the Oddfellows Lodge of which he was District Deputy Grand Master and had just received his 75- year jewel. He also was a member of the Bass River Baptist Church. Lloyd was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Born October 23, 1916 in Five Islands, Colchester Co, she was the daughter of Almerta (Gilbert) and Victor L. Campbell. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, husband and several cousins, Merna was predeceased by her brother, Charles, and sister-in-law, Margaret, Bass River. ATKINSON, B. Glenn - 75, of West Brook, Cumberland County passed away Tuesday April 27, 2010, at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. FULLERTON, THELMA G. – 101, of Parrsboro, Cumberland County passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at home. Born in New Salem, she was a daughter of the late John and Amelia (Ayer) Rector. Thelma was very active in her community, particularly as a long serving member of the Parrsboro United Church and was president and founding member of the Over 60’s Club. She is survived by daughters, Zenith Rector (Utley), Parrsboro; Mary Canning, Parrsboro; daughters-in-law, Charline Canning, Calgary; Ivy Canning, Stittsville, Ont.; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. HAMILTON, Keith Allister, 76, Lower Onslow. With great sadness we announce the passing of Keith Allister Hamilton on May 16, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, following a short illness. Born September 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Fred and Effie (Fletcher) Hamilton. He was a loving husband to Ellen (Ross) for 57 years; devoted father to Judy (Bruce) Langille, Larry (Karen) Hamilton, Linda (Charles) Harrington and cherished grandfather of Erin and Kyle Langille; Charles, Daniel, Thomas and Amy Harrington, Brittany and Rachel Hamilton and three great-grandchildren. Keith is also survived by sister, Faye (Hamilton) Giddens. He was predeceased by brothers, Fern and Dorlan and grandson, Ryan. Keith attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, graduating in 1952. He was a retired employee of LaFarge Canada. In 1987, he and his wife started Hamilton Sod Farm. Keith was a founding member of the Onslow Belmont Fire Brigade and continued as Fire Chief for 39 years. He was past president of the Chief Fire Officers Association and past president of the Colchester Firefighters Association. He was awarded the Fire Service Exemplary Service Medal in recognition of 30 years of loyal service. He was invested with the Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in 1973 in Ottawa by Governor General Ronald Michener. His family always came first and he took a great interest in what his children and grandchildren were doing. He loved to camp at Brule Point and later was a member of the Nova Scotia Road Runner Trailer Club. Keith had a lifelong love of music playing in the Firehouse Four and Old Smoothies and took a great interest in developing young musicians. A Memorial Service, preceded by a Firefighter’s Tribute, was held Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in the Onslow Belmont Firehall, 12355 Highway #2, Lower Onslow. Interment in the Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses who took excellent care of Keith during his time at the Colchester Hospital and to the Onslow Belmont Fire Brigade for making our extra time with Keith possible. TOTHILL, Lloyd Matthew, 51, Brookfield. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Matthew Tothill. Born in Truro on November 29, 1958, he was a son of Geoffrey Tothill and the late Lillian (Fisher) Tothill. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Brookfield Fire Brigade and the Brookfield Sportsplex until he was disabled in an accident in 1993. Besides his father and stepmother, Mary , River John, he is survived by his wife, Darlene (Elms); son, Matthew (Morgan); sister, Susan (George) King, Onslow; brothers, Leon (Donalda) Fisher, Tor Bay, Robert (Julie) Tothill, Truro; sister-in-law, Patsy Tothill (Harold), Hilden; Gerald “Skippy” (Marilyn) Blackmore, Truro, Lorna “Tiny” (Leonard) Boudreau, Ontario, Keith (Wanda) Blackmore, Ontario, Ivan (Shawna) Elms, Alta., Roger (Joyce) Elms, Truro, Rennie Elms, Ontario, Heather (Randy) Wilmot, Truro; many nieces and nephews; several grand-nieces and nephews.
